Mel has close to 35 years experience in the building industry. At an early age, Mel was a framer, journeyman carpenter and a commercial construction worker during his Texas Tech college years. After graduating Cum Laude from Tech with a Bachelors of Science degree in Construction Engineering, Mel pursued his passion for the trade with Brown & Root and later with Amoco Production. In 1996 Mel started Abbe Custom Homes specializing in upper end luxury homes. Since that time, Mel has left his footprint signature homes all over West Texas. Mel is committed to building as close to a perfect home as possible. His unique ability to design and oversee every step of the building process has built his reputation as one of the premier builders in the area. Mel’s motto is “consider it done” and that is how he approaches his commitment to his customers.
Mel was raised in Morton Texas and married his college sweetheart, Linda. They have 2 children, Tara Myers and her husband, Brian, of Dallas and Aaron Abbe, and his wife, Alayna, of Houston. And most importantly, 2 grandsons, Beckett and Lleyton.
